Mic Oechsner has been performing, composing and teaching for more than 50 years.
His instrumental and stylistic versatility made him meet and cooperate with musicians from almost any genre:

• Jazz (Herman Johnson, Jürgen Wuchner, Karl Berger, Hans Koller, Paul Grabowsky, Peter o’Mara, Sigi Busch, Joe Nay, Janusz Stefanski, Leszek Zadlo, Mal Waldron and many others)

• Klezmer (NUNU!, Georg Kreisler, Klezmorim)

• Gipsy (Bireli Lagrene, Traubeli Weiss, Schnuckenack Reinhardt, Harri Stojka)

• Folk (Zupfgeigenhansel)

• Music For Theater (Kristian Schultze, Anton Prestele, Gunnar Petersen).

Improvisation – the creative process of the moment – fascinated him from the very beginning of his carrier. Creating unique musical moments, telling stories, is his biggest aim – no matter whether playing, composing or teaching.

„Experiencing these moments for artist and audience is only possible through training on one side and total release on the other. 

Musical processes have to be unlocked for shared perception – every single musical moment. This needs for sure a wide sensitization, wich means a great task regarding the current trends of consume and simple amusement.“
